What to Know About Body Tightening Methods at Your Local Salon

by Keith Fox

One of the major issues many people have with aging is loose skin and sagging skin on the face and neck. There are many options for taking care of these issues. The most common options are surgery or an injection that can tighten skin. Though these are the most common methods, spas and salons are now moving towards body tightening methods that are less invasive. Here are a few of those methods and what you need to know about each one.

RF Technology

One of the first things you need to know about the body tightening methods for full body or specific areas such as the face and neck is the type of technology that is used. RF technology is what you will hear most frequently. This technology is used on smaller areas but can also be used on larger areas with upgraded equipment. Most spas and salons will focus on the neck, face, upper arms and stomach area. The technology uses a handheld device that is placed over the skin, and thermal energy is sent through the skin. This thermal energy helps to tighten the area and will continue to tighten it over several appointments.

Follow-Up Appointments

You will need to know that regardless of the type of technology used, follow-up appointments will be necessary. These appointments can span over three months, six months, eight months or over a year depending on how severe the body tightening issues are. The appointments will allow the salon treatment therapist to determine how the treatment is working and if you should have increased treatment frequency. The follow-up appointments can also determine if other body tightening systems would work better for your needs.

Result Expectations

One of the questions that many people have as they enter a body tightening treatment from a spa or salon is what to expect. The expectations of the treatments are that the focus areas such as the neck and face will appear tighter over time, but not necessarily on the first treatment. You can also expect less collagen in the skin, such as in the upper thighs and arms. There is also little to no discomfort or downtime.

These are just a few of the body tightening methods you can have done at local spas and salons. If you are interested in any of these methods, contact your local spa owner. They can help you with choosing the right option for you, scheduling an appointment and answering questions about pricing and further treatment appointments.
